11th October results.
The final round of
the 2009 National Series was held at the Nora Raceway on 4th
October
23 Drivers turned up
to race many of whom had not played there National Joker so lots of drivers were
racing for double points. The weather was dry to start with but just before
Heat1 the rain started to fall which caused problems for all drivers all day
with the slippery surface.
Round 1- Heat wins went to 217
Mark Whittaker, 391 Jody Foster, 57 Jonathan Goodacre and 390 Scott
Grocock.

2 - Heat Wins went to 217
Mark Whittaker, 391 Jody Foster, 471 Ben Harding and 390 Scott

3 - Heat Wins this round
went to 391 Jody Foster, 46 Simon Farrer, 64 Dick Batty and 73 Dave
Waters.

4 - Heat Wins this time
for 471 Ben Harding, 217 Mark Whittaker, 64 Dick Batty and 107 Andrew
Whittaker.
The top 2 drivers
were seeded straight through to the final they were 471 Ben Harding and 390
Scott Grocock with the next 12 Drivers going into 2 semi
finals

Meeting Report Nora 9/08/2009
18 Drivers present for this meeting with the main event been for the
Frankie Wainman Trophy unfortunately Frankie couldn’t make it but many
thanks to Ricky Wilson who stood in and presented the trophies.
Round 1 - With 3 Heats per Round and the weather been very good a very fast
meeting was in prospect and Dave Gwillam 901 took the first race
followed in the next by 391 Jody Foster and the third by 217 Mark
Whittaker.
Round 2 - The results were the same as Heat 1 but the track was getting faster and the laps were going up
Round 3 - Another shuffle round for the drivers of the heats and winning the
first heat was 217 Mark Whittaker the second to 34 Thomas Yarwood and
the third to 391 Jody Foster
Round 4 - Still all to play for as the drivers started the final round and 217
Mark Whittaker took Heat 1, Dave Gwillam took the next Heat and Jody
Foster won the last heat of qualifying.
At this point congratulations to Mark Whittaker who broke the Nora Track record with 56 Laps.
Semi Final - The Semi Final was always going to be a good race with the top 4
already through to the final the next six drivers contested the Semi
Final. The race was very clean with all drivers giving there all
unfortunately Gary Osborne didn’t finish the race due to a stripped
belt but 471 Ben Harding and 395 Pete Pexton got through to the final.
Final -
The main event started with 391 Jody Foster making an excellent start
and been the quickest on track all the other drivers were trying to
chase him down really hard and despite been out of the track at the
point Jody hung on to take the first running of the Frankie Wainman
Trophy ahead of Ben Harding and Nora racer 64 Dick Batty.

who attended the meeting and made it such a good days racing and to

Nora – 12th July 2009 Johnny Goodhall Memorial
The 2009 running of the event was held at Nora and the event been
kindly sponsored by the Keighley Festival. This meeting was run in
memory of Johnny Goodhall a Brisca Formula 1 Stock Car who sadly lost
his life, with Mick Goodhall heavily part of 1/8th Stock Cars at
Leicester Mick kindly put up an annual trophy in memory of Johhny.
18 Drivers were in the pits and been a solus date for 1/8th Stock Cars
Nora had some traveling drivers who arrived and raced they included
Mick Goodhall, Jessica Goodhall, Andrew Whittaker and Scott Grocock.
It was announced at drivers briefing that the top 4 would be seeded
straight through to the Final with the next 6 contesting the
consolation with the top 2 from the race going through to the Final.
Round 1 - With the field been split in to 3 Heats per round the first heat went
out and immediately on the pace with a win was 214 Ian Yarwood, Heat 2
went to 390 Scott Grocock with a great drive from Nora driver 95
Michael Reay as conditions got a little tricky with rain falling half
way through the heat and Heat 3 was won by 64 Dick Batty.
Round 2 - With the threat of rain still in the air Round 2 kicked off on a dry
track and Heat 1 was won by 5 Mick Goodhall, Heat 2 was taken again by
390 Scott Grocock with 3 Paul North coming home in 2nd place and Heat 3
was a very hectic affair lots of spills on the track with no driver
giving an inch but 152 Gary Osborne took the race followed by 395 Pete
Pexton
Round 3 - The Heats were now mixed up for Heat 1 5 Mick Goodhall took the win
from 111 Ian Yarwood Junior, Heat 2 was taken by 471 Ben Harding who
had a miserable start to the days opening 2 heats but bounced back with
a win in this one followed by 214 Ian Yarwood and 390 Scott Grocock
took Heat 3 from 107 Andrew Whittaker
Round 4 - Last Round of Heats and still everything to play for and 111 Ian
Yarwood Junior took Heat 1 followed by 5 Mick Goodhall Heat 2 was taken
by Ben Harding with fastest time of the day 54 Laps followed by 152
Gary Osborne and Heat 3 went to 107 Andrew Whittaker.
Consolation -
The six drivers contested the consolation very fast race but going through was 471 Ben Harding and 111 Ian Yarwood Junior
Final - The final set off and Ben Harding set off in front and stayed there all the way winning with 67 Laps

The English open championship was held at Nora on
28 th June, many of the countries top drivers arrived and raced at the
championship with current holder Scott Grocock in attendance trying to keep his
crown.
The heats were fast and furious with everyone racing 4
times with there best 3 scores to count.
Round 1 - The heats for Round 1 were taken by returning driver 341
Ian Johnson, Northern Champion 64 Dick Batty took a heat, 391 Jody Foster took
Heat 3 with 390 Scott Grocock taking Heat 4 and rounding off was 217 Mark
Whittaker.
Round 2 - Heat victories this time to 341 Ian Johnson, 64 Dick
Batty, 391 Jody Foster, 390 Scott Grocock and 217 Mark
Whittaker
The Heats were then shuffled round for the next 2
rounds
Round 3 - Opening Heat winner was 391 Jody Foster again with 57
Jonathan Goodacre taking Heat 2, 390 Scott Grocock took Heat 3 with 217 Mark
Whittaker taking Heat 4 and 341 Ian Johnson taking the final
Heat
Round 4 - Last round of qualifying and still the pace was fast and
furious Heat1 went to Nora driver 7 Stewart Bealey , Heat 2 went to 214 Ian
Yarwood, Heat 3 to 390 Scott Grocock, 217 Mark Whittaker took Heat 4 and Heat 5
again taken by Ian Johnson
Now the top 24 drivers progressed into the quarter
finals with the top 3 from each qualifying for the Semi Finals
Quarter Final 1 - Went to 217 Mark Whittaker followed home
by 64 Dick Batty and 304 Julian Vaux.
Quarter Final 2 - Went to 341 Ian Johnson
followed home by 175 Martin Kinton and 213 Steve Kinton.
Quarter Final 3 - Was
next and that was won by 390 Scott Grocock followed home by 100 Danny Vaux and
Nora driver 395 Pete Pexton.
Quarter Final 4 - Was won by 391 Jody
Foster with 57 Jonathan Goodacre and 46 Simon Farrer also
qualifying.
Semi Final 1 - was won by 217 Mark Whittaker with 390
Scott Grocock 2ndand 100 Danny Vaux third amd the other semi was won by Jody
Foster with 57 Jonathan Goodacre and 46 Simon Farrer following him
home
